“Honestly, I am continually grateful for your help in transforming our practice, and I can’t count how many people I’ve informally told how helpful your services are. I couldn’t be happier with how everything has worked out with implementing the changes you recommended. The practice is very financially strong, and we’ve grown to add a PA and other additional staff to offer esketamine treatments for Treatment Resistant Depression. I love getting to go to work every day, and am probably one of the least burned-out psychiatrist you’ll ever meet!  And my worry that I wouldn’t be able to serve the sicker patients SMI actually turned out to be the opposite! Without being beholden to network contracts, I can offer sliding scales as I see appropriate, and am able to meet people with SMI wherever they’re at financially. I’ve actually found that my average acuity level actually went up! I realized that I had a fair number of people who had been doing great for a long time and more or less just needed refills of meds that anyone could prescribe, but they wanted to schedule relatively frequent followups, more or less just to “chat” with somebody, and  with just a small in-network copay, they didn’t have the same motivation to detach from me that I had for them. But going out of network has made patients more thoughtful of whether they really need to see me, or if they can go back to their PCP or in-network psychiatrist. This keeps my caseload open to keep a relatively constant stream of more acutely sick patients— which is exactly what I want it to look like. On the flip side, I also have more psychotherapy patients, because it’s financially viable for me to do so. I really feel like I am living the dream!”

“I was fortunate to work with Dr. Jennie Byrne for a few months. I am an Internal Medicine physician with over 25 years of clinical practice and management experience. Like many physicians, I got into management role because I was a clinician but did not have any formal training on how to manage teams and people. I was struggling with motivating people and collaboration. I found Jennie to be a great coach and mentor. Her approach is to address the problems in a comprehensive way - she gives practical pointers but also suggest books to read that focuses on systematic way to address the issues. She then asks for a feedback on whether or not the techniques worked in getting the results and helps problem solve further. I was able to get better outcomes from my team members because of her coaching. Jennie could be a great mentor for any physician in management role to achieve better outcomes.”

“Jennie is an deeply effective leader, both strategically and operationally. Her strategic decisions are both insightful and incisive, and she arrives at those decisions with a keen eye for balancing inclusivity with authority, so that people feel appropriately heard even while being firmly led. Operationally she is fast without being rushed; comprehensive without being too narrowly focused on details. When it comes to managing relationships with colleagues, managers and direct reports, she brings a high EQ and a great sense of when to keep things light, and when to get straight to business. She is a complete pleasure to work with, and is a formidable force in as a leader. I've learned much just by watching her work, and I could not recommend her more highly.”

“When I hired Dr Byrne, I was unsatisfied with my career trajectory. I had been mulling over starting a private practice for quite a while, but the more I looked into it the more overwhelming it all seemed.
I was surprised at how personal the process was, and especially how personable Dr Byrne was. Going in, I assumed she would tell me exactly what to do and I would just follow her lead. And yet working with her was so much more than that! We spent a lot of time exploring my values and career goals with the goal of designing a practice that fit my goals and my personality. She was professional, approachable, and easy to communicate with.
Now I’m on the cusp of opening my private practice. I have a clear vision of what my practice is and what it isn’t. That vision is shaped by my unique values and my personality. As long as I keep the vision in mind and embrace my personality, I have confidence that I will make the best decisions for myself and my practice.”
